At MCES, we are proud to offer a unique program known as “wheeling”, where students rotate weekly through enrichment classes including Physical Education, Art, and STEM. While students engage in these high-interest, hands-on learning experiences, grade-level teachers and education specialists are provided with two dedicated hours of collaboration time.
This structured collaboration has been instrumental in supporting the implementation of a new math curriculum, aligning instructional practices across classrooms, and strengthening overall instructional quality. At the same time, students benefit from a well-rounded education that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and self-discovery. Many students report that “wheeling days” are their favorite—they look forward to them and are more motivated to attend school on those days.
This model is unique to MCES and has become a cornerstone of our school culture, fostering both student engagement and professional growth. Continued funding will allow us to sustain and build upon this impactful program.

Physical Education

PE plays a crucial role in the overall development of students by promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy habits. Engaging in regular physical activity helps improve their motor skills, coordination, and overall health. Additionally, PE fosters social skills as children learn to work together, communicate, and support one another. By instilling a love for movement at a young age, we set the foundation for a lifetime of healthy choices.
